The strongest Doloc Town Golden Fish location is the freshwater pond by the deer statue in Deep Forest. Multiple community sources point to that landmark, while an older fishing table lists Deep Forest Freshwater and Fishing Tool Level 1. Season, weather, catch chance and reports of an alternate Port location are to be confirmed, so the deer-statue pond is the supported route rather than a guaranteed first cast.
Go to the Deep Forest deer-statue pond
Use the deer statue as the final landmark and fish in the nearby freshwater pond. This location is repeated in the community fish record and player reports, which makes it stronger than a single anecdote. The current research does not include an original 1.0 map from the nearest travel point.
If you are building a route, record the path from an identifiable entrance or bus stop and capture the pond in the same frame as the statue. That evidence will make the location easier to verify without republishing another site's map. Until such an image exists, follow the landmark rather than an invented set of coordinates.
Rod and condition requirements
The older table lists Fishing Tool Level 1 and no extra seasonal condition. Because that table predates 1.0, those requirements remain reported rather than current game verification. A player should check the fishing archive and the active weather before concluding that the location is wrong.
No collected source establishes a required lure or a precise catch probability. This page does not claim one. If repeated casts fail, log tool level, month and weather so the conflict can be resolved with current evidence.
Run a controlled catch test
Fish only the deer-statue pond for a defined session and keep the conditions unchanged. Switching between locations and weather during the same test makes a rare catch hard to attribute. The goal is to confirm the route, not to manufacture a probability from a small sample.
If the Golden Fish appears, capture the location, archive entry and current conditions. If it does not, the result does not prove the fish is absent because the rate is unknown. Mark the test as incomplete and repeat under another supported condition.
Why the Golden Fish matters
The Treaty Port research material uses one Golden Fish for Freshwater Fish Research. That gives the catch a progression use beyond completing a collection. Keep the first confirmed fish until you have checked the relevant research exchange.
The source pack does not provide a verified current sell value or a reason to farm multiple copies. Avoid turning the location page into a profit guide without price and rate evidence. Its supported task is finding the first required fish.
Conflicting reports to avoid overstating
Some sources mention the Port as another possible location, but that claim is not supported strongly enough to present as equal to the deer-statue pond. Weather and season requirements also vary between versioned records. These differences are shown as open questions, not combined into a false universal rule.
The 1.0 verification pass should compare Deep Forest and Port with the same rod across logged weather states. Until then, the Deep Forest landmark remains the primary answer. Alternate-location claims remain to be confirmed.
Sources and evidence status
The location is cross-checked through a community fish entry, the older cooking and fishing table, two player discussions and Treaty Port research notes. Player posts are useful for wording and route confirmation but do not establish a catch rate. Research was checked on August 11, 2026.
No community map image is republished here. The next update requires an original route capture and a 1.0 fishing log. That will decide whether rod, season, weather or an alternate Port pool changes the answer.
