The Wetlands are the flooded region behind the Hovercraft route in Doloc Town. Access is gated by progression, not by a door key: River Dredging must finish, Paiea's Private Exchange must repair the Hovercraft, and only then does the water route open. Inside sit the stone monument, the Reservoir and the four broken pipe stations from the Axolotl Trail quest, and version 1.0 adds a farmable Wetlands Farm with the Mushroom Fest event on top.
How to get to the Wetlands
The supported access chain has three links. First, finish River Dredging, the earlier water quest that opens the dredged route. Second, complete Paiea's Private Exchange, which asks for raw Wax Apples, Candied Wax Apples and a Rusty Key before repairing the Hovercraft. Third, drive the repaired Hovercraft along the opened water route into the Wetlands themselves.
If the route stays closed, check those three states in order rather than hunting for a hidden entrance. The source pack supports this chain from multiple walkthroughs, but the exact 1.0 quest wording can differ, so an active quest panel should always outrank an older guide.
Stone monument, Reservoir and the four pipes
Inside the Wetlands, the quest flow uses two landmarks to orient you: a stone monument and the Reservoir. Between them stand four broken pipe stations. The Axolotl Trail quest asks for one Pipe Repair Kit, teaches its recipe, and then expects three more crafted copies so that all four stations can be repaired.
This page is the region overview. The step-by-step order, kit counts and return trip are owned by the Axolotl Trail walkthrough, which stays the single quest page so the two answers do not drift apart.
What the Wetlands unlock
The pipe repairs lead back to the Reservoir, where the quest grants the Lotus Prototype. Installing it in the Environmental Modifier is the documented final step, and it connects the Wetlands route to the town's broader restoration systems. The modifier machine itself is covered separately in the Environmental Modifier guide.
Version 1.0 layers a second reason to visit on top: official 1.0 content notes list a Wetlands Farm together with the Mushroom Fest event, and a later hotfix explicitly touched the Wetlands Farm water rendering. Treat the farm as current 1.0 content; its plot counts and prices are not yet covered by this site's research.
Preparing a first trip
Carry the quest stack before you travel: the repair kits, food for the long route and space for quest items. The Hovercraft is transport, not armor — older material and the 1.0 playthrough both warn that hostile hits can knock the rider down in open water.
Record any landmark you use, because the research pack does not contain publishable coordinates for the pipes or the Reservoir. Follow current quest markers first and treat player-made maps as leads until an original capture exists.
Conflicting reports to avoid overstating
Older Early Access guides describe different prerequisite orders and pipe positions. The written walkthrough and a recent 1.0 playthrough agree on the current chain used here, but coordinates, kit drop details and exact dialogue remain to be confirmed in the version 1.0 client.
For the wider region and quest index, return to the Doloc Town Wiki & Guides. This page owns the Wetlands region overview; quest steps stay on the Axolotl Trail page and the modifier machine on its own page.
Sources and evidence status
The access chain, landmarks, pipe count and Lotus Prototype step are cross-checked through a written Early Access walkthrough, a 1.0 playthrough record and official 1.0 content notes that name the Wetlands Farm and Mushroom Fest. Research was last checked on September 5, 2026.
